Olivia Buckles is a Kansas City–based singer-songwriter crafting worship music rooted in sincere relationship with Jesus. Music has been a part of her story for as long as she can remember — from learning piano in 2nd grade and guitar soon after, to discovering that worship wasn’t just songs, but a place of connection and friendship with God.

 

Growing up, Olivia was often in gatherings at her church where she developed a rich history in the Lord through singing many of the songs from the Integrity Hosanna! worship albums of the late ’80s and ’90s — becoming a foundation for her love of worship long before she realized she was being prepared to lead it. She began songwriting in elementary school, giving language to her developing love for Jesus. At 13, she joined her church’s worship team, and there she found both a deeper relationship with Jesus and an invitation to create atmospheres for others to encounter His presence. At 18, Olivia moved to to Kansas City to join the International House of Prayer where she served as as singer and worship leader for nearly 10 years. 

 

Today, Olivia writes songs that carry that same heart — music about intimacy with God, filled with the Word, honesty and space to reflect. Listeners often hear shades of Sara Groves, and Joni Mitchell in her sound, yet her voice and message remain uniquely her own.

With releases including “Surely,” “I Want You Most,” and the recent “At The Center,” which caught wide attention after a viral Instagram clip, Olivia continues to write songs that invite people back to the feet of Jesus.
